wow, this is a difficult list to make!!! hmmm, are we looking at length of time that the artist has been recording, volume of work, impact, pure numbers – ahh, it’s impossible! one thing that i would definitely say is that muse should move up in the ranks. although i love tom petty, i think that overall his songs are pretty similar – although he really has staying power and has done some amazing collaborations (travleing wilburys, stevie nicks, etc.) anyway, we could discuss this for a while when i get home. i love you and miss you so so so much!!!!

Michael Jackson…? On numbers alone, maybe, but he certainly doesn’t do it for me. I guess that’s the beauty of pop music, though; each to our own, eh? I’d have the Kinks in there, as you wouldn’t have most post 60s pop without them, and Muse, well, they’re kinda like the b*stard son of Queen and Radiohead, but I guess I’d still have them in my top 100.

Muse? I think Coldplay and Queen are definite contenders.

well as i said, it is not an authoritative list – just my own (for the moment) 2 pak – NO WAY. Janis was on there for a bit then she got bumped…

First of all Andy, Queen was probably a major influence for MUSE, and as for Coldplay…are you kidding? You cannot even put MUSE and Coldplay in the same sentence. I mean i like Coldplay – i’ll listen to it in the background or something but you’ve got to be kidding me.

from mrs. parks….
the beatles, john lennon, bob dylan, nirvana, muse, neil young, i don’t know who else – i’m not sure if i’m making the list based on artists i love or the all around winners. if we’re going with artists i love, then i would also add alice in chains, tenacious d, the killers, elliot smith
