Apparently, the new Radiohead epic In Rainbows is so ultra cool you can’t even find it anywhere. Yep the only place to purchase this much anticipated album is on the official Radiohead website.
The band recently decided to distribute it on their own – an awkward move if you ask me, considering the initial release will be a trial release so that the fans can decide how much to pay for it. Huh? Yep…i guess that says something about the quality (or lack of perhaps) that they have assigned to their recent work – they are so confused by what they do they can’t even assign a value to it. Or perhaps it is an arrogant statement about the band itself…hmmm…” how much will people say it is worth?” ” A million dollars???” Apparently they think it is so damn good that they are baffled about what to charge for it… Whatever the cost, the band has decided to keep all sales to themselves (as if they need more money – or clout at this point.)
No in all seriousness, and with no disparage to the band or Mr. Yorke, i am curious to see what is going to be released. I am a fan actually, I’ve just been awaiting something that doesn’t sound like a cacophony of guitars wailing a hymn for the forlorn and misbegotten…perhaps something like the Bends or Pablo Honey? I mean Ok Computer was fantastic and pioneering, I’m just ready for something else…aren’t you?
